A guest post by Lynn Meadowcroft, Positivity Pioneer and Licensed Heal Your Life Teacher from Bolton, Greater Manchester, UK:
My dear friends, I would love to share with you my own experience of lockdown here in the UK.
When, we were told in March 2020 that the whole country was going into lockdown and that there would be huge restrictions imposed on us, my very first thought was, ‘Oh no!! What am I going to do? How am I going to manage? How am I going to earn an income? How will I pay my bills? How will I survive?‘
I went into sheer panic and had a HUGE meltdown!!
I was on my knees on my living room floor crying like a baby. I cried for a very long time. I rang my mother, still crying. Her words were comforting, she assured me she would help me financially if I needed it. That did comfort me. I stopped crying and thanked her.
After a few days of processing all the changes, I knew I had to make changes in the way I worked. I had never heard of zoom or spotify and I now consider both these platforms my best friends!!
I created an online course which was hugely successful and successfully supported and continue to support a huge group of women to be seen, heard and valued in all areas of their life. They are finding their voice and beginning to see themselves as the amazing women they are.
Why do I share this with you? Because it is a classic way of how our mind works.
We hear something, we have thoughts about what we hear, which leads to how we feel, we either respond or react, (I reacted), which then leads to our behaviour and our experience.
Once I accepted the changes, I looked at what else was available, for me it was to transfer my work to online courses. Next, was how do I do this? I took a few days to plan and create my courses and plan the dates to deliver them.
This year I will be doing more online courses. I am excited. I am hopeful. I am happy. I am content. I have not been able to transfer everything I do online. But I am more than happy with the way things turned out for me.
I still see the fear, I hear the fear, and I see so much negativity.
As a Positivity Pioneer I asked myself how could I help the people in my own social media community?
I am currently writing daily mini bites of inspiration, something I did in the second national lockdown last November and which was gratefully received.
We are in our third national lockdown here in the UK and have been since the 5th January 2021.
It is so important that we do not allow ourselves to become dragged down into the mire of negativity. More than ever, we need to be grateful. Grateful for our blessings, of which there are so many.
I choose words that make me feel good for example, when my mother was told she had to isolate due to her being classed as vulnerable I suggested she tell herself that she was not in isolation, rather she was practising the art of self-care. This made a huge difference to her. She no longer felt cut off from society but instead she was taking care of herself and her needs.
Here in the UK, we have so many people blaming the Government, blaming China, blaming whoever they can point the finger at. This won’t get us anywhere. There are so many conspiracy theories, people have stopped speaking to each other, who have been friends for many years. Even families have stopped speaking to each other if they have a difference of opinion.
It has been very sad to witness all of the above.
- It is time for us to unite NOT fight.
- The world will NEVER be the same.
- Pillars of our society are crumbling down all around us.
- It is time for change.
- This is a HUGE change.
Time for love, time for kindness, time for compassion, time to listen, time to do things differently.
Time for us.

Note by Move Your Life: Covid-19 justified measures have led to us being locked up at home. Fears are increasing, aggression too. So that the “lockdown” does not also lock up souls, exchange is important. In this blog, people write what is currently moving them.
